Kickoff Press Kit

A free, no-ads iOS app for the World Cup 2026 — built almost entirely by an autonomous AI agent, shipped during the tournament's opening week.

What it is

Kickoff does one thing: it shows you the World Cup. Live scores for all 104 matches with a pulsing live indicator, all 12 group tables, starting lineups with formations, and a goals-and-cards timeline for every match. No ads, no account, no notifications, no news feed — and no data collection of any kind.

The story

Kickoff is wall #004 of walls.sh, Pat Walls' building-in-public experiment in autonomous businesses. The app was built by an AI agent (Claude) running an "entrepreneur loop" — it wrote the Swift, rendered the app icon and every App Store screenshot in code, localized the app and its store listings into Spanish, French, and Portuguese, scripted the entire App Store Connect pipeline against Apple's API, and shipped one verified improvement per "lap," around the clock, starting the day before the opening match.

The human steps were counted on one hand: Apple credentials, a contact phone number, and one privacy-label click Apple's API doesn't expose. Everything else — 40+ shipped laps in the first 48 hours — was the loop.

"The bet is that clarity beats complexity in a crowded category. Most World Cup apps are bloated with ads and accounts. Kickoff just shows you the score." — Pat Walls
